Merger Control

Merger control in France is under the responsibility of the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industry, who may request a consultative opinion from the Competition Council. The General Directorate for Fair Trading, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) is in charge of the enforcement of merger control rules.
When a concentration exceeds turnover-based thresholds established in the EC Merger Regulation, it is subject to control by the European Commission. In accordance with the principle of close and constant liaison between the Commission and the Member States, the DGCCRF participates in Community procedures and defines the French positions.

Cases subject to control

According to the provisions of the Commercial code after modification by the New Economic Regulation Bill, these pages allow you to follow the progress of a merger case, from the initial invitation to comment to the final decision and opinion published in the Official Bulletin of Competition (BOCCRF)
